How a dispute is resolved is key to securing the right outcome. Mediation is an increasingly common way of resolving disputes and often results in creative solutions which are not otherwise possible by litigation alone.
Biggart Baillie have three fully qualified Mediators, David Kidd and Martin Sales, based in our Edinburgh office, and Alison Grant, based in Glasgow. They are all accredited as Commercial Mediators by the Law Society of Scotland and have substantial experience both acting as Mediators in disputes and also representing clients at Mediations.
We find that Mediation can produce speedy, confidential and cost effective resolution of disputes. Our mediators have conducted many Mediations under the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) / Edinburgh Sheriff Court Scheme. Alison also acts for Professional Indemnity Insurers under the Law Society of Scotland Master Policy Scheme, who are also keen to promote mediation as a quick and efficient method of disposing of claims.
