Scott has been a Partner at Biggart Baillie since November 2001.

He has an extensive track record in a wide range of property investment and development transactions across all sectors including office, retail, leisure and industrial.  As well as more orthodox acquisitions and sales, Scott has experience of large portfolio transactions, sale/leasebacks and has advised clients on a number of substantial transactions where it has been advantageous to use various types of investment vehicles including unit trusts, limited liability partnerships and other bespoke vehicles.  Scott is recognised for his proactive pragmatic and commercial approach and acts for a spectrum of property investment and development clients ranging from substantial private investors (both within and outwith the UK) and property companies to public sector organisations.  Notable deals where he has advised as lead partner include:

  • All acquisitions and sales in Scotland by major middle eastern based investor in the last few years which includes the purchase of NCR HQ in Dundee.

  • Acquisition and sales for a substantial property company which included the purchase and sale of a shopping centre and the disposal of substantial retail park investments in Scotland.

  • The purchase by way of Property Unit Trust of Network Rail’s HQ of Buchanan House, Glasgow for substantial private investors.

  • The acquisition by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport of its HQ in Queen Street, Glasgow.

  • Major canal side regeneration project for British Waterways in central Scotland.

  • Purchase of strategic riverside site in Glasgow by major Northern Irish based developers McAleer & Rushe for substantial mixed use development.

  • Scottish end of asset purchase of retailer Internacionale and thereafter advising on all Scottish properties.

Scott enjoys the social interaction which the role affords and is involved regularly in business development and networking initiatives.

Away from work Scott can often be found on a tennis court or golf course when not spending time with his wife Sue and children James and Louisa.
