Neil has a strong track record as one of Scotland's leading transport, environmental and parliamentary lawyers.

His meticulous but pragmatic approach has been positively commented upon by clients and peers alike.  Clients praise Neil's good commercial, as well as legal, input.

Neil’s transport practise covers rail (passenger, freight and infrastructure), tram schemes, roads (including freight transport and road user charging), bus/coach, aviation, ferry and short sea shipping and harbours operations and infrastructure matters.

He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a member of the Rail Freight Group and the European Freight & Logistics Leaders Forum.  Neil is Director of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and chairs its Infrastructure and Transport Issues Group.

In addition to dealing with environmental aspects of infrastructure and utility projects, Neil provides specialist advice including risk apportionment, interpretation and regulatory advice on water and sewerage, contaminated land regime, waste and operational authorisation matters as well as access to information issues and consultant appointments and remediation contracts.  He is a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Environmental Law Committee and United Kingdom Environmental Law Association.  Neil also provides parliamentary related services to clients in respect of Scottish Executive and other public body consultations and on Bills and Orders before the Scottish Parliament.

Outside of the office, Neil likes to spend time with his wife and young family. He enjoys most outdoor and water sports.  As a keen runner and cyclist, he regularly commutes to and from the office under his own propulsion!
