Michael qualified in 1996 after a career as a Marketing Manager in the travel business. Michael joined Biggart Baillie’s employment team in late 1999 and has been instrumental in the consistent year on year growth of Biggart Baillie’s employment unit. This is reflected in his appointment in October 2009 as Head of Biggart Baillie’s Employment Unit. Michael has a very successful track record in employment related litigation in the Employment Tribunals throughout the United Kingdom as well as the Employment Appeal Tribunal. As well as having a strong pedigree in contentious employment matters, Michael provides regular support to Biggart Baillie’s property, corporate and banking teams in relation to employment and TUPE aspects of transactions. Michael has a particularly strong background in supporting energy, IT and telecoms clients in respect of the employment related and TUPE aspects of service provision changes and outsourcing.
Chambers 2010 commented that Michael has "all-round knowledge of employment law and always delivers."
