Geoff is a Partner in our Real Estate Department. He has many years of wide ranging experience in commercial property matters including advising lenders in major funding transactions and acting for a variety of investment clients on small through to large portfolio transactions. He also has a busy and expanding resi and commercial development legal practice.
Geoff not only acts for some of the more well known property/investment/development clients and funders alike but also prides himself on the breadth and depth of his varied client base from smaller private equity investors through to the Plcs in the Real Estate market. His impressive client list not only includes well known said Plcs but also more UK based household names such as Nationwide and the Clydesdale Bank plc, as well as investors and developers such as Henry Boot Developments plc.
He has a solid reputation in the commercial property market for being a personable, pragmatic, commercial and proactive individual. Where required, he can readily deliver solutions in the transactional work that he undertakes for clients. This pragmatism is borne out of his varied legal experience and historical non legal experience. Geoff spent many years in commercial management/marketing management with Unilever in London and Smithkline Beecham. His wider commercial experience and expertise greatly assists in the delivery of good commercial solutions in legal transactions.
Geoff enjoys supporting Partick Thistle Football Club (but then someone has to) and, as a family man, trying to be hands on with his 3 young children. He also thrives in the social elements connected with the job. Geoff enjoys the interaction with clients that strengthens his relationships and understanding of their needs. This is critical in delivering the all important client solutions in commercial property transactions.
