Alistair is a Partner in our Dispute Management Department, specialising in Commercial Property and Commercial Lease disputes. He regularly advises on a wide range of matters, including dilapidations, keep open clauses, landlord’s consent, irritancy, lease interpretation, servitudes, enforcement of missives and Agreements for Lease to name but a few. Alistair is recognised by his peers and clients as having a comprehensive knowledge of his area of practice and is regularly requested to lecture and give seminars to clients, solicitors and surveyors.

Alistair has Post-Graduate qualifications in both Construction and Arbitration Law and also provides advice and representation in these complex areas of law. He has also lectured on these areas of law, recently having assisted in the preparation of the Advanced Construction Law course at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and presented a seminar of the Scots Law of Arbitration at an International Arbitration Law Conference.

Notwithstanding his keen interest in the minutiae of the law, Alistair is committed to providing focused and commercially aware advice to his clients and has 14 years experience of dispute management to determine the most appropriate methods to achieve the best possible result. Alistair views litigation though the Courts as a last option, unless necessary, and regularly utilises alternative dispute resolution procedures including negotiation, adjudication and arbitration.

Away from the office Alistair has a wide range of interests from Japanese literature to Aberdeen Football Club, but tries to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two daughters.
