Alistair is recognised by his peers and clients as having a comprehensive knowledge of his area of practice and is regularly requested to lecture and give seminars to clients, solicitors and surveyors. Alistair is head of the firms’ Property Dispute Management (PDM) Unit.
The PDM Unit works closely with administrators and other Insolvency Practitioners in relation to property disputes which arise upon corporate insolvency. The firms’ PDM unit have established an excellent and solid track record in providing both technical and pragmatic advice to those parties effected including administrators, landlords, guarantors, funders and creditors. Alistair is a member of the firms’ Corporate Recovery Team.
Alistair has Post-Graduate qualifications in both Construction and Arbitration Law and also provides advice and representation in these complex areas of law. He has also lectured on these topics and assisted in the preparation of the Advanced Construction Law course at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Alistair views litigation though the Courts as a last option and regularly utilises alternative dispute resolution procedures including negotiation, adjudication and arbitration.
