Philip is a solicitor within our Dispute Management Department. He regularly represents clients in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and the Court of Session.
Philip advises on a broad spectrum of commercial disputes, however, has a particular interest in property litigation and advises landowners, tenants, landlords and developers on all aspects of title and lease documentation. He regularly advises on issues such as rent recovery, dilapidations, service charge disputes, irritancy of leases, enforcement of keep open clauses, assignation and sub-letting issues, boundary and title disputes, enforcement of missives and removal of unauthorised occupiers.
Having worked within our commercial property department, Philip is well placed to advise clients and is the main point of contact for several large shopping centres, including Silverburn Shopping Centre, Glasgow.
Philip recently obtained interim orders for possession of goods worth in excess of £1M which involved complex insolvency considerations and is currently handling a number of dilapidations disputes in excess of £1M. Recently Philip acted in a dispute regarding the breach of a Lock Out Agreement with damages claimed in excess of £4.5M, the case resulted in an issued judgment, which is now regarded as the benchmark case in Scots Law on inhibitions.
Clients appreciate his pragmatic approach to resolving commercial disputes. Away from the office Philip enjoys traveling and skiing.
