Seonaid has almost 20 years’ experience in dealing with litigation in both civil and criminal matters.
Seonaid is regularly involved in cases in both the Court of Session and in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland. She has also been involved in Public Inquiries before the Traffic Commissioner.
Seonaid has particular experience in assisting clients facing health & safety issues in the courts, at Fatal Accident Inquiries and in HSE Prosecutions. She was recently involved in the successful defence of a large utility company in the first attempt to prosecute a corporate entity for culpable homicide in Scotland.
Over the years Seonaid has handled a varied range of employers’ liability and public liability cases, as well as road traffic claims. She focuses on the defence of these claims for commercial, insurance and utilities’ clients, as well as for individuals. She has been involved in a number of catastrophic injury claims.
Seonaid was previously an Authorities Advocate for the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, a role that called for a sound knowledge of personal injury and criminal law and involved the valuation of often complex claims relating to both personal injuries and financial loss.
Seonaid regularly provides training sessions for clients on a variety of litigation and health and safety related issues.
