Mairi is an associate in our pensions group. She joined the team in 2005 with a background in corporate finance. Mairi has a broad-based experience and expertise through working with a range of private and public sector clients on many different types of pensions issues and challenges. As part of her work, Mairi regularly gives advice on corporate deals including acquisitions, business transfers and public sector outsourcings. She also provides specialised SIPP technical support. She works for a broad range of clients including VisitScotland, Marine Harvest (Scotland), Robert Gordon University, James Chapman (Butchers) Limited and Scottish Chief Police Officers Association.
Mairi is a part of the staff of Moat Pensions Limited and provides trustee services to a number of schemes on a daily basis. She has experience of working with the Pension Protection Fund and the Financial Assistance Scheme. She also recently acted as the lead pensions legal adviser on an application for Clearance from the Pensions Regulator in relation to an acquisition involving an underfunded final salary scheme.
Mairi is a local member of the Scottish Group of the Pensions Management Institute and a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
