Euan joined Biggart Baillie in 2006 and is an associate in our dispute management department. He has experience in a range of commercial areas including contractual disputes, intellectual property, company and partnership law, insolvency law, consumer law, pensions law, public procurement, product liability and property law. During a secondment to BBC Scotland he provided advice on all aspects of media law including contempt of court, defamation, data protection and freedom of information. He is a member of the firm’s Commercial Dispute Management team, Debt Recovery team and Property Dispute Management Unit. He was awarded the Signet Accreditation in commercial litigation law by The WS Society in 2011.
Euan principally practices in general commercial and civil litigation throughout Sheriff Courts in Scotland and in the Court of Session. In addition, he is developing a practice in defending prosecutions for breaches of licensing regulations in the Sheriff Courts. While Euan feels it is essential to offer the service of effective court representation to clients he has also managed disputes for clients through identifying areas of contention early and adopting the appropriate means of resolving matters without necessarily proceeding to court through either formal arbitrations, adjudications, multi-party mediations or sometimes just getting on the telephone.
He is a tutor of Civil Court Practice on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at Edinburgh University.
