Scotland's top inventors 2008

From reinventing the cuppa to running shoes with added bounce, Scotland's top new inventors unveiled

The finalists in this year's Biggart Baillie Innovation Awards are announced today in advance of today's final (28th February 2008).  The short-listed cream of Scotland's inventive crop showcases a range of ingenuity covering everything from gadgets to improve simple, everyday tasks such as making a cup of tea to an innovation designed to protect soldiers and civilians in war zones.

The award scheme is a Glasgow Science Centre initiative to support and encourage Scotland's freshest inventive talent. The scheme is supported by one of Scotland's leading intellectual property solicitors - Biggart Baillie.

The final takes place today when a winner in each category will be chosen.
